WHY IS GROWTH USEFULL?

The recent economic report from Banco Central de Venezuela registers an increase in the GDP, which makes all the economists jump of joy. Some of them are happy because the manufacture elevated, and others presage a sustainable growth for several months.

What does this rejoicing mean? How does data -in the march towards Socialism- influence? Is it still the goal?

Before we get going, economy has a narrow relation with consciousness. If economy has a strong selfish component, of competence and exploitation; in short, if it is capitalist –based on the non-social property of means of production- then the selfish awareness will hold.

On the contrary, if economy is based on fraternity, in the use values, in the social property administrated by the national State; in short, it is Socialist -then the awareness that interweaves there, will be a loving awareness- consistent with the social duty, Socialist.

So, when a capitalist talks about economy, he resigns to see the growth rates from the private sector: consumption, profit, manufacture; and when those rates are good he feels happy, and everything else does not matter. The capitalist system has centuries improving economy and the selfish awareness that dislodges from it.

Reformists are a little more demure, they feel ashamed and behave the same as capitalists, but they search a variety of make-ups to represent their joy, which is the same as capitalists. They try to smuggle our way to china as if it is the road to Socialism, they costume of human capitalists. We could paraphrase a famous reaction from the German Socialist, August Bebel, and say: “what have you done reformist capitalist that capitalists applaud your rates”.

Socialists that want to substitute the system must have another economic data interpretation. Let’s see.

The economic growth of non-social property –that will hold the selfish awareness and it is against Socialism- is not the same as the social property growth that supports Socialism; it is a property that interweaves with the Socialist consciousness.

Socialism must study the economic movement with the awareness creator filter, from it will emerge the political behavior of masses, its electoral reflection.

We already know that the relation between the economic form, consciousness and the political behavior of society is narrow and intimate. However, in a peaceful Revolution this relation is more delicate: any diversion towards the non-social property will appear within politics but multiplied by thousands.

The pacific path to Socialism implies a frontal battle, extremist and against the capitalist culture, and that battle requires a economic base, social property, clear, and needs a permanent campaign to the socialist values, showing the relation between economy and consciousness.

The report from Banco Central and the commentaries that it causes, prove the struggle between the non-social economy –that resists to die- and the social economy that strongly emerge.

That battle –although it is not within politics- it is decisive for the success of Revolution.

With Chavez, all!!
Without him, nothing!!
